Apaches match report -
Saturday 24th September 2005
CPR Apaches 1 - Burghfield
FC 1
The Apaches put up another tremendous performance
against a side that came into the match with two victories
from their opening two matches.
From the start the Apaches took the game to Burghfield with
Michael R and Alex going close. After 10 minutes Jonah received
a pass and hit an upstoppable left foot volley into the top
corner. This must go down as the best goal he has scored for
the club and a contender for goal of the season even at this
early stage. The Apaches did not sit back and Michael R and
Jonah both had chances but the Burghfield keeper made two
very good saves.
At the end of the first half Burghfield started
to play some really nice football and started to look for
the equalizer but the defense of Paul, Tom and Max really
looked solid and didn't miss a tackle and kept the Burghfield
strikers to long distance shots. Michael D in goal was also
in good form keeping the Burghfield team out when they did
find the target. Half time.
The second half started with Harry and Dan coming
on. Burghfield continued to attack and the defence and midfield
continued to work tirelessly. The Apaches tried to catch Burghfield
on the counter attack and could have doubled thier lead with
a little more luck in front of goal. With two minutes to go
Burghfield threw everything at the outstanding Apaches defence
and scored with a fine move.
The Apaches should be proud of the way that
have played and continue with thier fine passing game.
