Chiefs match report -
Saturday 19th November 2005
CPR Chiefs 1 vs Sandhurst
Swallows 1
On a frosty morning we welcomed Sandhurst to Curley Park.
Following on from a magnificent win against local rivals Ascot,
the Coach, fresh from an intense football coaching course
with Sven, was looking forward to continuing our recent winning
run.
From kick-off the Chiefs were playing in the
Swallows half for most of the 1st half. When the Chiefs play
their attacking football, they need to be careful of the opponent’s
breaks. Towards the end of the 1st half, the Swallow’s
number 9 broke free and managed a cracking shot into the top
corner of our goal (0-1). Curley Park responded with a superbly
controlled shot by Dan, neatly set-up by Sam W (1-1).
Both teams in the 2nd half wanted to win the
game. Again, Curley Park looked likely to score from their
strong attacking play by the midfield and striker, but looked
less in-control when Sandhurst responded. A couple of attacks
which very nearly won the game came from Jamie’s cross
to Jack B but the shot went wide and, in the last 10 minutes,
Sam W & Dan battling on the goal line to get the ball
to cross the line.
In the last play of the game, Drew had a great
solo run from the half way line, but the shot was well saved
by the goalie.
The games finished 1-1
